After newborn's death in 'wrong treatment', mother also dies
The woman, whose newborn child had died in alleged wrong treatment at Central Hospital in Dhaka, also passed away at another facility in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
Mahbuba Rahman Akhi died around 1:45 pm while undergoing treatment at Labaid Specialized Hospital, her husband Yeakub Ali Sumon told Jago News.
Mentioning that the doctors told him she is no more, Sumon said, "My everything is over."
Earlier on June 14, Sumon alleged wrong treatment to his wife by the physicians of Central Hospital and cheating of the hospital's authorities left her at risk of death.
Their newborn child died due to negligence by the hospital authorities, he had said.
Mahbuba Rahman Akhi had been receiving treatment under gynaecologist Dr Sangjukta Saha of Central Hospital for the last three months who assured her that she will give birth child through normal delivery.
Around 12:50 am on June 10, she was admitted to the hospital with labor pain. At that time, Dr Sangjukta was not at the facility but hospital authorities said she was there and was working at the operation theater.
