UP chairman Babu among 22 sued in Nadeem murder case
A case has been filed against 22 people including Mahmudul Alam Babu, the chairman of Sadhurpara union parishad at Bakshiganj upazila in Jamalpur, in connection with the murder of journalist Golam Rabbani Nadeem.
Nadeem’s wife Monira Begum filed the case with Bakshiganj Police on Saturday.
Babu, also suspended Awami League (AL) leader, was detained from the house of one Fakrul Islam at Chilahati Char Tistapara in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh early in the morning.
RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moeen, said RAB-14 and its headquarters’ detective branch detained him. Next legal step is underway in this regard.

Earlier on Friday night, Babu was temporarily suspended from the post of General Secretary of Sadhurpara union AL over his alleged involvement in the journalist murder.
Journalist Nadeem, Jamalpur district correspondent of online news portal Banglanews24.com, died on Thursday, a day after he was injured in an attack by miscreants.
Locals and family sources said miscreants attacked Nadeem in Pathati area of Bakshiganj Bazar in the district on Wednesday night on his way home after professional duty.
His wife Monira Begum earlier alleged that the men of Sadhurpara UP chairman Babu carried out the attack on him over publishing news.
