N'ganj charger fan fire death toll rises to 4 as another dies

Another victim of the fire in a charger fan in Fatulla of Narayanganj died in a hospital in Dhaka on Thursday, taking the total number of deaths to four.

Victim Tutul Mia, 25, died around 9:30 am while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Confirming the death, SHNIBPS resident surgeon Dr Md Tariqul Islam said around 60 percent of his body was burnt.

Earlier, Sonia Akter, 30, Bulbuli Begum, 40, and Abdus Salam Mondal, 55, who sustained burn injuries in the fire, passed away at the facility.

Five members of a family suffered burn injuries after a charger fan caught fire in Fatulla of Narayanganj on Friday.

They were, later, admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) in Dhaka.

Dr Tariqul said now Mehzabin who suffered burn injuries in the incident is undergoing treatment and her condition is also critical.
