Death toll from N'ganj charger fan fire rises to 2

Another victim of the fire in a charger fan in Fatulla of Narayanganj died in a hospital in Dhaka on Tuesday, taking the total number of deaths to two.

Victim Bulbuli Begum, 40, died around 10:30 am while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

SHNIBPS resident surgeon Dr Md Tariqul Islam said around 25 percent of her body was burnt.

Earlier, Abdus Salam Mondal, 55, who sustained burn injuries in the fire, passed away at the facility on Monday evening, said Tariqul, adding that about 70 percent of his body was burnt.

Five members of a family suffered burn injuries after a charger fan caught fire in Fatulla of Narayanganj on Friday.

They were, later, admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) in Dhaka.
