Shahbagh blocked seeking age limit for govt job at 35

The job seekers staged a demonstration at Shahbagh intersection in Dhaka on Saturday afternoon demanding that the upper age limit for entering government jobs be increased to 35 years.

They blocked the intersection for around eight hours from 1 pm, suspending vehicular movement in the area.

Around 8 pm, vehicular movement in the area returned to normal after police chased the demonstrators and removed them from the road.

The job seekers, however, said they have long been doing movement seeking an extension of the age limit for entering government jobs to 35 years from 30 and will continue it until the demand is met.
