Two dengue patients die; 147 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 147 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours (from Tuesday 8 am to Wednesday 8 am).

With the latest death, a total of 19 people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 480 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka.

Of them, 411 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 69 are in other divisions.

As many as 2,720 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 2,221 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
