Two killed as truck, pickup van collide in Sylhet

Two people were killed and three others injured as a truck and a pickup van collided head-on in Jaintiapur upazila of Sylhet on Wednesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Nurul Islam, 45, and Sayad Ahmed, 35, residents of Helirai (Lutmail) village in the upazila.

Police said a truck and a cow-laden pickup van collided head-on and fell into a field beside the road in Katagong area around 12 noon, leaving two dead on the spot and three injured. 

Jaintiapur Model Police Station officer in-charge Omar Faruk Moral said the injured were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
