N'ganj boiler blast death toll rises to 6

Another victim of the boiler explosion at a steel mill in Narayanganj died in a hospital in capital Dhaka on Saturday, taking the total number of deaths to six.

The victim, Jewel Mia, 35, breathed his last around 5:30 pm at Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dhaka.

The facility's resident surgeon Dr SM Ayub Hossain confirmed the death. 

He said around 95 percent of Jewel's body was burnt.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon, a boiler exploded at RICL Rahima Industrial Complex Limited in Gausia area of Rupganj upazila, leaving seven injured.

They were rushed to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dhaka where the on-duty doctors declared one dead.

The deceased was identified as Shanker, 40. 

At night of the day, another passed away while undergoing treatment at the facility. The victim was Md Ilyas, 35.

Among the rest five, three - Niyon, 20, Alamgir Hossain, 35, and Golam Rabbi, 35 - died on Friday and another, Jewel, expired today. 

However, the remaining injured is Md Rabbi, 35, and his situation is critical.
