Low pressure likely to form over South Bay
Bangladesh Meteorology Department (BMD) on Saturday predicted that a low pressure area is likely to form over the south bay in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.
"Trough of Westerly low lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas. A low pressure area is likely to form over the South Bay of Bengal around 07 May, 2023," a BMD weather bulletin said.
As an extended outlook for the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that the low pressure area is likely to intensify.
According to the forecast, there may be temporary gusty winds or rain with thunder in one or two places in Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions.
Along with this, there may be scattered hailstorms in some parts of the country.
According to the Met Office, day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country due to the formation of the low pressure.
