One killed, 6 injured in N'ganj boiler blast

A man was killed and six others were injured in a boiler explosion at a steel mill in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Shanker while the injured are Md Rabbi, 35, Md Ibrahim, 35, Md Ilyas, 35, Md Jewel, 35, Niyon, 20, and Md Alamgir, 33.

The incident took place at Rahima Industrial Complex Limited in Gausia around 4 pm.

Harun Or Rashid, a supervisor at the steel mill, said seven people sustained burn injuries in the blast and he, later, took them to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dhaka where the on-duty doctors declared one dead.

Dr SM Ayub Hossain, the resident surgeon of the facility, physical condition of all of the injured is critical.
