4 killed as bus collides with auto-rickshaw in Tangail

Four people were killed and another was injured when a bus collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Tangail on Sunday.

The accident took place on Tangail-Jamalpur road at Baghil Bazar area in Dhanbari upazila around 12:45pm. 

The deceased were identified as seven grader student of Baighat High School of the upazila Rashni Akter, daughter of Kalam Miah, Bithi Akter, daughter of Joynal Miah, auto-rickshaw driver Hakim Miah, son of Niyot Ali and Mostofa Miah, son of Jalal Miah of Gopalpur upazila. 

H M Jasim Uddin, Officer-in-charge of Dhanbari Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound bus collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw, leaving two people dead on the spot and three others injured. The injured were taken to a hospital where the doctors declared two of them dead. 

The killer bus was seized, the OC added.
