Patuakhali trawler capsize: 2 bodies recovered

The bodies of two people, who along with two others went missing after a trawler capsized in a river in Patuakhali, were recovered on Sunday morning.

They were Selina Akter, 40, wife of Monir Hawlader, a resident of Auliapur area, and their son Rabbi Hawlader, 20.

Their bodies were retrieved from Bodnarchar area and an operation is underway to rescue the rest two missing, said the district river fire station official Md Rezwan. 

Dashmina Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Nafisa Naz Nira said the bodies will be handed over to the family after due process and a drive is going on to trace rest two missing.

Earlier on Friday afternoon, a woman died and four others, including a bridegroom and his mother, went missing after a trawler carrying them sank in Bura Gauranga River in Auliapur area in the upazila.

The deceased was Lipi Begum, 30, wife of Dhalu Hawlader, a resident of Uttar Rongopaldi area.

However, the missing are Mansura, 8, daughter of Bellal Munshi, a resident of Uttar Char Shahjalal area and Khadiza, 5, daughter of Dhalu Hawlader.
