Two farmers killed in Sirajganj lightning strikes

Two farmers were killed in lightning strikes in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday afternoon.

They were identified as Abdul Maleque, 75, and Soleman Sheikh, 55, residents of Bagdumur village under Bahuli union in the upazila.

Sadar Police Station sub-inspector Daniul Islam said thunderbolts struck two farmers in Bagdumur village around 4:30 pm when they were harvesting paddy in a field, leaving them injured.

Later, they were rushed to Sirajganj 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared them dead, he added.
