Lightning kills two in Chapainawabganj

Two people were killed and two others injured in lightning strikes in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Shahin Ali, 20, son of Kader Hossain, a resident of Gopanagar and Asim Ali, 12, son of Harun Ali of Sharatnagar village under Shyampur union in the upazila.

Locals said thunderbolts struck four people in Mastan Bazar area around 2 pm, leaving two dead on the spot and two others injured.

Later, the injured were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).

Shibganj Police Station officer in-charge Chowdhury Zubayer Ahmed said police were sent to the spot.
