New Super Market fire doused completely
The fire, which broke out at the south building of New Super Market in the capital’s New Market area early Saturday, was doused completely on Sunday morning.
Md Al Masud, Warehouse Inspector and In-charge of Palashi Barrack Fire Station, confirmed this information at 9:30am.
He said the market fire was brought under control yesterday and was completely extinguished at 9am today.

According to the source, the fire service received information about the fire at 5:40am on Saturday. Later, a total of 30 firefighting units rushed to the spot in phases and brought the fire under control at 9:10am. The members of army, navy and air force joined them to douse the flame. The members of RAB, police and BGB were also deployed in the area.
However, nearly 200 shops were gutted in the fire in the New Super Market, President of New Market Traders’ Association Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen said at a press conference on Saturday.
