Three get death in transport leader murder

A court in Cumilla has sentenced three people to death in the murder case of transport leader Rezaul Karim.

The condemned convicts are Taposh Chandra Shil, 25, and Alo Akter, 30, residents of South Satanandi village in Daudkandi upazila, and Md Rashed, 28, of Bashikpur village in Chandina upazila.

Judge Zahangir Hossain of District and Session Judge Court handed down the verdict on Wednesday.

Lawyer for state advocate Nazrum Islam said police recovered the body of Rezaul on June 13 of 2014.

Later, his brother Md Khaza Mia filed a case with Daudkandi Police Station in this connection.
