Youth interviewed by DW arrested with foreign liquor

A youth named Nafiz Mohammad Alam, who recently gave an interview in German media company Deutsche Welle’s (DW) special documentary on the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), was arrested by the police on Sunday night. 

A team of Bhatara Police Station arrested him after conducting a drive at Bashundhara residential area in Dhaka. 

Police also recovered illegal foreign liquor, beer, drug-taking equipment and a motorcycle with police sticker from his house.

Md A Ahad, Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, confirmed the matter to Jago News on Monday. 

A case was filed against Nafiz with Bhatar Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act on Sunday night, the police officer said. 

DC Ahad said, there was an arrest warrant against him. Many bottles of foreign liquor and a motorcycle with police sticker were sized during his arrest.  

Earlier in November, 2021, he was also arrested by RAB with a large quantity of drugs.
