3 killed as truck collides with pickup in Jamalpur

Three people were killed when a truck collided with a pickup in Jamalpur on Sunday morning.

The accident took place on Jamalpur-Dewanganj highway adjacent to Betmari Eidgah ground area in Melandah upazila at 7am. 

Delwar Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Melendah Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.

The deceased were identified as Shah Alam, 35, son of Abul Karim of Biaru village of Jamalpur Sadar upazila, Chanchal, 32 and pickup driver Kajal. 

Locals said, the truck was going to Dewanganj from Jamalpur. When the vehicle reached near Betmari Eidgah ground, it collided head on with the pickup, leaving three people dead on the spot. 

Delwar Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Melandah Police Station, said the bodies of the deceased were recovered. The vehicles were taken in custody.
