Madaripur road crash: Death toll rises to 19

The death toll from road accident in Madaripur reached 19 as two more people died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday noon.
The accident took place when a bus fell into a roadside ditch at Kutubpur area in Shibchar upazila around 8:15am.
The identities of the deceased could be known yet.
Police said a Dhaka-bound bus of Emad Paribahan lost control and fell into the ditch after breaking the railing of Bhanga-Dhaka Expressway, leaving 17 of the passengers dead on the spot and 25 others injured. The injured were recovered and sent to different hospitals in Shibchar and Dhaka. Later, two of the injured died at the DMCH.
Abu Nayeem Md Mofajjal Haque, Officer-in-charge of Shibchar Highway Police Station, said 17 bodies were recovered from the spot and two others died at the DMCH.
