DBBL cash snatching: Mastermind Sohel arrested

The detectives have arrested the alleged mastermind over the snatching of around Tk 11.25 crore of Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited.

Arrested Sohel Rana, 33, was a car driver of Money Plant Link (Pvt.) Limited which vehicle carried the snatched money of DBBL.

The law enforcers apprehended him from Hemayetpur of Savar on the outskirts of capital Dhaka on Friday.

They also recovered around Tk 87.50 lakh of the robbed money from his possession.

With this, 12 people were, so far, arrested over the incident and about Tk 7.89 crore out of around Tk 11.25 crore was retrieved.

Mohammad Harun Or Rashid, the chief of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, made the disclosure in a press conference at his office on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier on March 9, about Tk 11.25 crore was robbed from a vehicle carrying Dutch-Bangla Bank's money from Uttara area in capital Dhaka.
