Sitakunda blast: Seema Oxygen Plant MD arrested
The investigation committee formed over the blast in Sitakunda that left seven people dead submitted the probe report to Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Abul Bashar Mohammad Fakhruzzaman at 4pm on Tuesday.
Police arrested Pervez Uddin, the Managing Director of the Seema Oxygen Plant Limited where the blast occurred, 4 hours after submitting the report by the chief of the committee Additional District Magistrate Rakib Hasan.
A team of the Industrial Police arrested him from Muradpur area in Chattogram around 8:30pm.

Md Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Inspector General and Chief of the Industrial Police, confirmed the matter to the journalists.
Earlier on March 6, Rokeya Begum, wife of a deceased man, filed a case against 16 people including Pervez Uddin with Sitakunda Police Station over the incident bringing allegation of negligence.
On March 4, seven people were killed and 17 others injured after a massive blast occurred at Seema Oxygen Plant at Kadamrasulpur in Sitakunda of Chattogram.
