The allegations of using the meat of animals other than goats in kacchi biriyani of the popular restaurant Sultan’s Dine were not probed.

The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) on Monday said this after revealing its investigation over the allegations.

A H M Safiuzzaman, Director General of the DNCRP, in a written statement, said Sultan’s Dine procures mutton from a Kaptan Bazar-based vendor named “Maa-Babar Doa Gosto Bitan”. Restaurant officials sometimes visit the shop while goats are slaughtered for delivery. The vendor delivers the meat to the restaurant under their own responsibility.

However, the mobile number - 01723309902 - from which the complaint was made was found switched off.

Sultan’s Dine can be exempted from the allegations as these were not probed, the DNCRP DG said.

Earlier last week, a Facebook post claimed that a customer was delivered kacchi of Sultan’s Dine made with the meat of animals other than goats.
