The government has directed the power distribution companies to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Sehri and Iftar of the upcoming Ramadan.

Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister M Tofazzel Hossain Miah said this in a meeting on the measures taken ahead of the Holy month held at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Sunday.

He said direction has been given to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftar to avoid load shedding.

There is no reason to rise the prices of commodities as the country has much more stock than demand, Tofazzal said.

He also said the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will sell daily essentials at fair prices in two phases that will keep the prices stable.

Despite this, if anyone raises the prices of food products irrationally centering Ramadan, strict steps will be taken, he said.
