NSU Pro-VC among 4 sent to jail
A Dhaka court on Tuesday sent four people, including Pro-Vice Chancellor of North South University Gias Uddin Ahsan to jail in a case for not keeping tenant information and renting out their houses to Gulshan attackers.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nur Nahar Yasmeen passed the order when police produced him before the court.
The three others are Alam Chowdury, nephew of Gias Uddin Ahsan, and Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, manager of the building and Nurul Islam, a teacher of a school in Mirpur area.
On July 16, police arrested three people, including Pro-Vice Chancellor of North South University Gias Uddin Ahsan, Alam Chowdury, and Mahbubur Rahman Tuhin, from different parts of the capital for not keeping information of their tenants who had involvement in the Gulshan terrorist attack.
On July 17, police arrested Nurul Islam, a house owner in the city’s Shewarapara area for renting out his flat to Gulshan attackers and not keeping their information.
