Siblings killed as truck rams auto-rickshaw in Sirajganj

Two siblings were killed and two others injured as a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kazipur upazila of Sirajganj on Saturday afternoon.
Deceased Mukul Hossain, 30, and Lipi Khatun, 26, were the children of Siddique Hossain, a resident of Singrabari village in the upazila while among the injured, one is Nayan, driver of the auto-rickshaw and a resident of the same village and another is Firoza Begum.
The incident took place in Kuralia area on the Kazipur road around 1 pm.
Sirajganj 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital medical officer Dr Shamimul Islam confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Witnesses said a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Kuralia area, leaving three passengers of the latter vehicle and its driver injured.
They were rushed to Kazipur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared one dead.
The facility medical officer Dr Firozul Islam said one of the four was brought dead.
Later, rest three were sent to Sirajganj 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital where another died.
