Father, son to die for killing journo Monir Rari

A Barisal Court on Tuesday convicted father and his son and sentenced them to death in a case filed over killing journalist Monir Hossain Rari in 2010 in Muladi upazila of the district.

The convicts are Alauddin Rari and his son Rasel Rari.

According to prosecution, Monir Hossain Rari, founder president of Muladi Press Club and well known journalist was killed by his keens at in front of Muladi Police Station on December 21, 2010.

Jasim Uddin Rari, brother of the deceased filed a case against Alauddin Rari, his sons Rasel Rari, Motaleb Rari, Shohag Rari and wife Aleya Begum on December 22.

After examining all the records and witnesses, Additional District and Session Judge Sudeepto Das handed down the verdict.
