University student killed as bus hits motorcycle in Jatrabari

A motorcyclist was killed and another injured after a speedy bus hit the motorcycle at Kajla Bhanga Press area in Jatrabari of the capital around 9:30am on Thursday. 

The deceased was identified as Md Omor Faruk Palak, 20, first year student of Business Administration Department of Bangladesh Islami University. 

The injured is Jewel Rana, 21.

Omor’s maternal uncle Jamshed Alam said Omor and Jewel fell on the road and were critically injured when a bus of Ashiyan City hit their motorcycle in the area. Later, they were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctor declared Omor dead.

Md Bachchu Miah, In-charge of DMCH police camp, said body of the deceased was kept at the hospital’s morgue. The concerned police station was informed about the accident. Injured Jewel is being given treatment at the emergency department of the hospital.
