First namaz-e-janaza of Barrister Huda held at SC premises

The first namaz e-janaza of Trinamul BNP Chairman and former BNP minister Barrister Nazmul Huda was held at the Supreme Court premises in the capital around 12:30pm on Monday, reports BSS.

Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, Judges of the Appellate and High Court division, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin, Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Md Momtaz Uddin Fakir, Former Presidents Yusuf Hussain Humayun and Joynul Abedin, SCBA Secretary Abdun Noor Dulal, Former Secretary AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Registrar General of the Supreme Court Md Golam Rabbani, current and former SCBA leaders, officers of the Attorney General's Office, senior advocates of the Supreme Court, officials of the Supreme Court administration and large number of lawyers and court officials participated in the namaz e-janaza.

Barrister Nazmul Huda passed away around 10pm on Sunday, while undergoing treatment at a city hospital at the age of 80.

Family sources said he will be buried at his family graveyard in Shaheenpukur area of Dhaka's Dohar.

Huda was the founding president of Trinamul BNP, the latest registered political party from the Election Commission (EC). 

He served as information minister during 1991-1996 and then communications minister during 2001-2006. Huda was elected lawmaker from Dhaka-1 (Dohar-Nawabganj) constituency four times with BNP ticket.

Huda formed two new political parties namely Bangladesh National Alliance (BNA) and Bangladesh Manabadhikar Party (BMP) besides 'Trinamul BNP'.
