Arrest warrant against former Sonargaon Police Station OC, SI

A court in Narayanganj has issued an arrest warrant against the former officer in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station Morshed Alam, and the second officer (sub-inspector) of it Sadhan Bosak in a case.

Judge of Narayanganj District and Session Judge Court Md Assams Jaglul Hossain issued the warrant on Thursday, the court public prosecutor (PP) advocate Moniruzzaman Bulbul confirmed.

Plaintiff of the case Anisur Rahman Alamgir said accused Morshed and Sadhan picked up local Jubo League leader Zahidul Islam Swapan, Babul and him at Sonargaon Police Station on November 11 of 2018 and tortured them.

At one stage, they demanded extortion from Swapan and threatened to kill him through shootout if he does not give money, the accuser said.

He also said Swapan, later, lodged a case against the two former police officials in a court.

The accused threatened Alamgir not to testify in court in the case, he said, adding that he, later, filed a case against the duo and today's arrest warrant was issued in this lawsuit.
