Killed militants eyed on big blow: IGP

Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Haque on Tuesday said militants who killed in the operation ‘storm-26’ in city’s Kalyanpur were planning to carry out big blow in the country like Gulshan Holey Artisan Café attack.

Shahidul Haque, who visited the scene after completion of the operation, told this to reporters in the morning.

Nine alleged militants were killed in what police described as ‘gunfight’ during a special operation of the joint forces in Dhaka’s Kalyanpur area early this morning.

SWAT, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab), detectives and Dhaka police jointly carried out the one-hour operation ‘Storm 26’ from 5:51am in continuation of last night’s raid.
