Kalyanpur combined operation kills 9 militants

At least nine militants were killed in an anti-militant drive by combined force at Jahaj Bari of ‘5’ number road in the capital’s Kalyanpur.

SWAT, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Detectives and Police jointly conducted the ‘operation storm 26’ from 5.51am to 6.51am on Tuesday.

Police also detained a bullet-hit injured militant from the spot and sent him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

According to source, the member of Mirpur Police Station in cooperation with local inhabitants was conducting the drive at different messes around 11pm on Monday. The police member came under firing when they was reaching at ‘5’ number road of Kalyanpur.

Hearing the news, SWAT, RAB, DB and police members rushed to the spot and confined the militants in a house. Later the combined forces conducted the operation while nine militants killed.

After conducting the drive, Inspector General of Police Shahidul Haque said, the all deceased are the militant. They might be the member of similar group of Gulshan attacker.
