Bishwa Ijtema: Second phase ends with Akheri Munajat

The second phase of the three-day 56th Bishwa Ijtema, the second largest Muslim congregation after the Hajj, ended on Sunday.

The congregation ended with the 30 minutes long Akheri Munajat (concluding prayer) beginning at 12:15pm at the Ijtema venue at Tongi in Gazipur as Maulana Yusuf Bin Saad Kandhalvi, the eldest son of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi, conducted the munajat.

Thousands of devotees prayed for peace, progress and welfare of the country as well as the Muslim Ummah during this time.

Ijtema

Earlier on Friday, the second phase of Ijtema began with ‘Aam Bayan’ (general sermons) by noted Islamic scholars after Fazr prayers on the bank of the Turag River at Tongi.

The first phase of Biswa Ijtema was held at the same venue on 13-15 January.

Tablig Jamaat has been organizing the Biswa Ijtema on the bank of Turag river since 1967. Now Ijtema is being held in two phases since 2011 to ease the accommodation problem.
