Two held with venison in Patuakhali

Police have detained two people along with around 20 kilograms of venison in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali.

The detainees are Hasan Hawlader, 35, a resident of Kuakata in the district and Masum Billah Hawlader, 44, from Patharghata upazila in Barguna district.

Mahipur Police Station officer in-charge Abul Khair said police, in a drive, detained them along with the venison from Shibbaria River area under Latachapli on Friday night.

Later, they were named in a case and sent to court, he added.

The OC also said the detainees have long been hunting deer from Sundarbans and trading venison in adjacent areas.
