Two dengue patients die; 14 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 14 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

With the latest death, a total of five people died of dengue to date this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 80 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 39 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 41 are in other divisions.   

As many as 438 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 353 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
