Habiganj 4-kid murder: Bail pleas of 4 murderers rejected

A Habiganj court on Monday rejected the bail plea of four detained accused in a case filed for killing of four kids in Sundrateki village of Bahubal upazila.

The court also ordered to police to impound the establishment of three fugitives of the case.

Additional District and Session Judge Mafroja Parveen passed the order after a hearing on the petition.

The court also fixed August 7 for next hearing date.

On 12 February, the four children - Zakaria Ahmed Shuvo, 8, son of Wahid Miah, his two cousins Tajel Miah, 10, son of Abdul Aziz, and Monir Miah, 7, son of Abdal Miah, and Ismail Hossain, 10, son of Abdul Quadir - went missing while playing in a field at the village.

On 13 February, Shuvo’s father Wahid Miah filed a general diary with Bahubal police station in this connection while Monir’s father filed an abduction case with the same police station on 16 February.

Informed by locals, police recovered the bodies of Shuvo, Tajel, Monir and Ismail unearthing the ground in Isabil area on 17 February.
