Fire breaks out in Chattogram shoe godown

A shoe godown in Chattogram city caught fire on Thursday afternoon.

The fire broke out in the godown adjacent to New Market under Kotwali Police Station around 3:15 pm.

Deputy assistant director of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence Abdul Hamid Mia confirmed the incident.

Being informed, eight units of firefighters from Agrabad, Nandakanan and Chandanpura fire stations rushed to the spot and were trying to douse the blaze, he said.

The cause of the fire could not be known yet, the official added.
