3 killed as 2 buses collide in Rangpur

Three people were killed and 10-15 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Rangpur-Dinajpur highway at Chikli Doalipara intersection area in Taraganj upazila of Rangpur on Tuesday morning. 

Identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

The injured people were admitted to the Upazila Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College Hospital.  

According to police and witnesses, the collision took place between a bus of Tripti Paribahan and a bus of Saimon Paribahan around 7:30am. At that time, two people died on the spot. Later, one of the injured died after they were taken to the upazila health complex. 

Sheikh Mohammad Mahbub Morshed, Officer-in-charge of Taraganj Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jago News.
