Five killed as four vehicles collide in Habiganj

Five people were killed and three others injured in a collision among four vehicles on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Shahpur area in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj around 3am on Saturday. 

The deceased were identified as Sadir Ali, 25, a microbus driver of Komolatila village at Kulaura upazila in Moulvibazar, Atiqur Rahman Sihab, 15, son of late Nurul Haque, of Madanagar village of the same upazila, Abdus Salam, 32, son of late Abdul Hannan of Berachara village in Kamolganj upazila of the same district, his wife Sadia Begum, 26 and their daughter Habiba Akter, 2.  

However, identities of the injured could not be known.

Jasim Uddin, Second Officer of Shayestaganj Highway Police Station, said three dead bodies were found from the spot. Two of five injured died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. 

Sadia’s cousin Helal Ahmed said his sister and niece died on the way to the hospital. Bodies of the deceased were taken to their house.
