Three get life for killing auto-rickshaw driver

A court in Lalmonirhat has sentenced three people to life-term imprisonment for killing an auto-rickshaw driver.

The lifers are Shamim Hasan, 35, a resident of Khalisha Modati area, Sujan Mia, 30, of Kishmat Modati area, and Shohag Islam, 36, of East Para village in Kaliganj upazila of the district.

The judge of Lalmonithat Session Judge Court handed down the verdict on Tuesday afternoon, said the court public prosecutor Akmal Hossain Ahmed.  

The case statement said Shamim, Sujan and Shohag murdered the auto-rickshaw driver, Shahadat Hossain, in September 2020 for snatching his vehicle.

Later, the victim's mother Sahida Begum filed a case with Sadar Police Station in this connection.
