967 died in workplace accidents in 2022: Report

As many as 967 people lost lives and 228 received injuries in accidents at their workplaces in 2022, according to a report.
The highest 425 people died in accidents in the transport sector while the second highest 211 met their tragic end in the service sector, said the report.
In the last decade (2013-22), the casualty number in workplace accidents was 15,259. Of them, 9,558 died while 5,701 were hurt, as per the report.
OSHE Foundation, an organization that empowers workers to defend fundamental rights at work, upheld the statistics of casualties in workplace incidents at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) in capital Dhaka on Friday.
