Two Bangladeshis shot dead by BSF
Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead and another was injured by the Border Security Force of India along Hatibandha border in Lalmonirhat district early Thursday.
The deceased were Nazir Hossain Manglu, 40, a resident of East Fakirpara village, and Sadik Hossain, 23, son of Hafizar Rahman, of Borokhata Dolapara village in Hatibandha upazila.
Fakirpara union parishad chairman Fazlur Rahman Khokan confirmed the matter to Jago News.
Locals and Border Guard Bangladesh sources said a group of 10/12 people was bringing cows to Bangladesh from India through the border.
Sensing their presence, the BSF members from Boro Madhusudan BSF camp in Cooch Behar district of West Bengal opened fire on them when they reached 8 No. sub-pillar area under 888 No. main pillar.
Two Bangladeshi citizens died on the spot in the firing and the rest managed to flee.
Borokhata union parishad member Hafizul Islam said two men were shot dead by BSF when they were bringing cows from India.
