Garment worker killed in Gazipur road crash

A garment worker was killed as a bus rammed a motorcycle in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district on Tuesday morning.

Deceased Zahangir Alam, 27, was the son of Barek Mia, a resident of Paburiachala village under Sreepur Police Station and worked at a local garment factory. 

Salna Naojor Highway Police Station officer in-charge said a speeding bus hit the motorcycle in Bagher Bazar area on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway around 7:30 am, leaving its rider dead on the spot.

Deceased Zahangir met his tragic end when he was going to his workplace on the motorbike, the OC said.

The body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said, adding that the bus was seized but its driver managed to flee.
