Security beefed up in Dhaka ahead of World Cup final

Security has been beefed up in capital Dhaka to avert any untoward incident over tonight's FIFA World Cup final.

Besides Dhaka Metropolitan Police, the Rapid Action Battalion will work to maintain the law and order situation in the capital.

Additional commissioner (crime and operations) of DMP AKM Hafiz Akter told Jago News there will be adequate police in all the spots of capital Dhaka where the world cup matches are shown on giant screens so that no one can create any unpleasant incident.

There will be RAB's routine patrolling and checkpost, director of the legal and media wing of the elite force Khandaker Al Moin said, adding that sufficient personnel will move if any sabotage, violence, or clash occurs over football game.

Four people were, so far, reported to have died in violences-clashes among the supporters of different teams across the country during the Qatar Football World Cup matches.
