4 female JMB members held in Sirajganj

Detectives arrested four suspected female militants and seized crude bombs, huge propaganda books and bomb-making materials from Masumpur area in Sadar upazila of Sirajganj early on Sunday morning.

The arrestees were identified as Tabassum Rani, 30, wife of Mahbubul Alam, Habiba Akter Mishu,18, wife of Khalid Hasan, Runa Begum,19, wife of Mamrul Islam, and Romana Akter,21, wife of Sujon Ahmed Bijoy- all hailing from Bogra, Sirajganj and Gaibandha districts.

Officer-in-charge of Sirajganj Detective Branch (DB) of police Wahiduzzaman said tipped off that a group of female militants was staying in the area for planning to carry out subversive activities, a team of DB police launched a drive there at about 5:30am.

The law enforcers arrested the four and recovered six crude bombs, huge jihadi (religious uprising) books and bomb-making materials from their possession.
