Two dengue patients die; 163 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 163 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Thursday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 269 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 803 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 477 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 326 are in other divisions.   

As many as 61,089 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 60,017 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
