One dengue patient dies; 220 hospitalized in 24 hrs

One dengue patient died and 220 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Tuesday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 267 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 994 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 514 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 480 are in other divisions.   

As many as 60,742 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 59,481 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
