220 hospitalized with dengue fever in 24 hrs

Some 220 people with dengue fever were admitted to different hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka in the last 24 hours until Sunday morning.

With this, a total of 1,060 patients diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals.

Of them, 591 are being treated at the facilities of Dhaka while 469 are in other divisions, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said today.  

As per the release, a total of 60,298 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year. 

To date, 266 people died of dengue during the period while 58,972 out of the hospitalized patients recovered.
