Two dengue patients die; 253 hospitalized in 24 hrs

Two dengue patients died and 253 were hospitalized in the last 24 hours until Wednesday morning.

With the latest death, a total of 260 people died of dengue to date, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said.

Currently, 1,171 people diagnosed with the mosquito-borne disease are taking treatment at different government and private hospitals in and outside the capital of Dhaka. 

Of them, 683 are being treated at the facilities in the capital while 488 are in other divisions.   

As many as 59,449 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country since January 1 this year.

Some 58,018 out of the hospitalized patients, however, recovered during the period.
