Father, son among 5 killed as covered van crashed into shops

Five people, including a man and his son, were killed as a covered van crashed into roadside shops in Manirampur upazila of Jashore district on Friday morning.

Among the deceased, two were identified as Habibur Rahman, 45, a resident of Bagaritila area, and his son Tawshid Hossain, 7. 

Locals said a covered van ploughed into at least 10 roadside shops, including a hotel, in Bagaritila area around 8 am as its driver lost control over steering, leaving five dead.

Manirampur Police Station officer in-charge Sheikh Md Moniruzzaman told Jago News the covered van veered off the road and crashed into at least 10 shops, leaving five people, including a man and his son, dead.
