Child Ayat's severed head recovered

Police Bureau of Investigation has recovered the severed head of child Alina Islam Ayat, who was killed after being abducted in Chattogram.

Inspector of PBI, Chattogram Ilias Khan said they recovered the head from Outer Ring Road Beribadh area under EPZ Police Station in the city on Thursday morning.

Earlier, PBI said it found two severed legs of the seven-year-old girl beside Sluice Gate of Akmal Ali Road under the police station on Wednesday.

Ayat's father Sohel Rana filed a general diary with EPZ Police Station in Chattogram on November 15 after she had gone missing from Bondartila area of the city.

On November 24, PBI arrested Abir Ali, 19, son of Azharul Islam, a resident of South Halishahar in the city, for allegedly kidnapping and murdering Ayat.

In interrogation after arrest, Abir admitted that he kidnapped the child for ransom. Later, he cut her into six pieces and dumped the body parts on the sea, according to PBI.
